For the past two years I've toyed with the idea of creating a personal blog about midlife. Both years I started the blog which focuses on facing nearly 60 years of life experience and musing about what's ahead. Both years I failed to follow through. I allowed everyday life to take over what little free time I have and eventually the blog ended up on a long list of to-dos. Both years I pulled the plug just weeks after beginning.
Two misses.
I don't like not following through on something I want to do. I know the time ahead of me is shorter than the time behind me. If I want to do something or if I feel the pull of something I "need" to do then I just have to do it. No excuses. The dishes in the sink can wait. The television show can be postponed. Dinner can be someone else's responsibility every now and then.
This year will be the exception. There's a lot to think about when you're facing a whole new decade, and while I'm just a few years off from officially being a sexagenarian, I realize it will be here before I know it. Now is the time to get my thoughts in order so I can make my 60s the (fingers crossed) best decade of my life.
Stick with me. With your help maybe I can make this year the year I officially put it all together.
